Biography<\/h4>\n

With a versatile voice that ranges from Verdi and Wagner to Puccini and Strauss, Astrid Kessler is a sought-after soprano on the international stages. She began her vocal training at the age of 16 at the International School Seoul in South Korea, and later studied at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik N\u00fcrnberg, Berlin and Hannover.<\/p>\n

Some of her recent engagements include singing Salome in Strauss\u2019 Salome<\/em> at Vienna Volksoper, Opera Antwerp and Teatro Massimo Palermo, Chrysothemis in Strauss’ Elektra<\/em>, Alice in Verdi\u2019s Falstaff<\/em> at Staatsoper Stuttgart, Arabella in Strauss\u2019 Arabella<\/em> at Teatro Real Madrid, Oper Leipzig und Oper Z\u00fcrich, Rosalinde in Strau\u00df\u2019 Die Fledermaus<\/em> at New National Theatre Tokyo, Deutsche Oper am Rhein D\u00fcsseldorf and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Sieglinde in Wagner\u2019s Die Walk\u00fcre<\/em> in a new production by Peter Konwitschny at Theater Dortmund, Agathe in Weber\u2019s Der Freisch\u00fctz<\/em> at Nationaltheater Mannheim and Elsa in Wagner\u2019s Lohengrin<\/em> at Forum Ludwigsburg, alongside Klaus Florian Vogt.<\/p>\n

Astrid Kessler is a prize winner of the international Meistersinger competition N\u00fcrnberg 2018 in the German Fach, and has impressed audiences and critics alike with her portrayals of Eva in Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von N\u00fcrnberg<\/em>, Elisabeth in Tannh\u00e4user<\/em>, Feldmarschallin in Richard Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier<\/em>, Abigaille in Verdi’s Nabucco<\/em> and Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly.<\/em>.<\/p>\n
